Dallas Bulls show fight, continue building in road loss to Punishers

Writer: Andy Martinez

The Dallas Bulls fell short on the road in Pueblo against one of the NAL’s newest teams, the

Pueblo Punishers.

Despite showing flashes of promise early, fundamental mistakes began to stack up, and the

game slowly slipped out of reach.

Defensively, the Bulls continued to establish an identity. The unit delivered big hits, forced

multiple turnovers, and recorded a defensive touchdown for the third consecutive week, an

encouraging trend for a team still finding its footing. On the other side, the offense showed

flashes but struggled to find consistency on key downs, contributing to a 49–19 result on the

road.

Pueblo’s fast start played a major role in shaping the flow of the game. With an early lead, the

Punishers’ defense was able to apply consistent pressure, knowing Dallas would lean on a

pass-heavy approach for much of the night.

That pressure remained a factor throughout for Bulls quarterback Samuel Seward, who finished

9-of-28 for 79 yards and a touchdown. With the pocket frequently collapsing, Seward was often

forced off his spots, making it difficult to establish rhythm in the passing game.

While the offensive struggles were evident, some growing pains are to be expected. The Bulls

are, after all, one of the NAL’s newest teams too. Building chemistry and consistency takes time,

and these early matchups serve as critical stepping stones for a developing roster with loads of

talent ready to shine.

If Dallas wants to turn the corner, it starts up front. Controlling the line of scrimmage on both

sides of the ball will be essential, not only to protect the quarterback, but to establish rhythm

offensively and maintain defensive dominance. Once that foundation is set, the rest can begin to

fall into place.

Despite the loss, the Bulls never stopped fighting.

With under a minute left in regulation, linebacker Adyn Schwarzer came up with a huge strip

sack, and defensive lineman Jordan Brookins finished the play in the end zone for a touchdown.

Even late, Dallas continued to compete, showing the kind of edge that can’t be taught.

This team isn’t backing down. As the season progresses, the focus remains on turning that

relentless effort into results and proving exactly who the Bulls are in the NAL.

While Saturday’s loss stings for a Bulls team eager to assert itself in the NAL, the season is still

young. Dallas will regroup, find its rhythm, and look to turn these early lessons into long-term

success.
